Donor Spotlight: Abby England

Abby-Donor-Profile

When Abby England moved to Georgia in 2022, she never imagined it would become the place where she would rediscover herself and find a new sense of purpose.

Originally from Illinois, Abby’s Midwestern charm is unmistakable. “I pronounce it ‘bawwwx,’ not ‘box,’” she jokes. Her journey to Georgia began with a move from Arkansas for her then-husband’s job. But shortly after settling in Atlanta, her life took a turn. “My husband made marriage-ending decisions within his new role,” she shared candidly. “A year later, I filed for divorce. I didn’t know a single person in Georgia, but this place showed up for me.”

What followed was a time of healing and exploration. Abby immersed herself in Georgia’s landscapes, hiking, biking, and wandering through towns like Savannah and Augusta. “Georgia gave me a fresh start,” she said. “The people, the land, the community—they helped me rebuild.”

A Calling to Help Others

Professionally, Abby wears multiple hats. By day, she leads marketing for Elevate Structures, a national commercial construction company. But her deeper calling is in wellness.

As a National Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach and founder of Abby England Wellness, she supports clients and organizations through coaching and workshops. She’s also the voice behind the podcast Bitter or Better: Real Stories of Divorce & Resilience and is writing a book of the same name.

“My passion is helping others reach their big, audacious goals,” she said. “Well-being is about so much more than just physical health, it’s emotional and mental, too.”

The Leap That Started It All

Abby’s introduction to Georgia Conservancy came through Stephanie Casebier, a familiar face from Fernbank Museum. “She invited me to rappel off the Intercontinental Hotel in Buckhead to raise funds for the Conservancy. I immediately said yes!”

True to her adventurous spirit—Abby’s gone skydiving and backpacked across Europe—she saw the rappelling not just as a thrill, but as a meaningful way to support the mission.

“After learning more about Georgia Conservancy’s work, I was blown away,” she said. “They’re protecting everything I love about Georgia, from beaches to mountains.”

Giving with Intention

Abby supports Georgia Conservancy through a donor-advised fund, a tool introduced to her by her parents. “They wanted to instill a spirit of philanthropy in me and my siblings,” she said. “Having a DAF makes giving intentional. It’s a fund set aside for good, and that makes it easier to be generous.”

Leading Through Service

Abby’s commitment to community extends well beyond her professional and philanthropic work. She serves on the board of Emory University’s Executive Women of Goizueta, helps lead Fernbank Museum’s Corporate Leadership Council, and organizes monthly meetups for the Atlanta chapter of the American Marketing Association.

Her advice to others looking to make a difference? “If someone asks, say yes. If you can’t say yes, ask how you can help. That’s how opportunities find you.”

A Thriving Life—and a Powerful Why

Abby’s story is one of turning adversity into purpose. “I’m thriving in this new chapter of life,” she said. “And supporting Georgia Conservancy is one way I give back to the place that’s given me so much.”
