In August, to celebrate National Park Week, Trees Atlanta, Chattahoochee National Park Conservancy, and Georgia Conservancy hosted a day paddle on a beautiful stretch of the Chattahoochee River. This 7.5-mile section of river, from Garrard’s Landing in Roswell to Don White Memorial Park, is located within the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area and blends calm, scenic floating with just the right amount of excitement. Paddlers experienced gentle riffles, playful Class I and II waves, and plenty of time to enjoy the forested banks, wildlife, and sweeping river views that make this section so special.
