New Trustee – David Watson

Georgia Conservancy is excited to announce the appointment of David Watson to the Board of Trustees.

David Watson spent more than three decades at Delta Air Lines, where he held executive roles
across Operations and Human Resources. Over that time, he worked with teams across the
company to help keep large, complex organizations and operations moving forward, especially
during periods of change.

Much of David’s work included the development of strategy and day-to-day operational
execution. He partnered closely with frontline leaders and senior management, focusing on
practical solutions, sound judgment, and respect for the people responsible for making things
work. His experience spans major industry moments, including mergers, economic cycles, and
operational disruptions.

After retiring from Delta, David shifted into advisory and consulting work. He enjoys helping
leaders think clearly about transitions, organizational and operational challenges, and effective
leadership. His approach is grounded in experience and shaped by environments where decisions
have immediate impact.

David is a native Atlantan and graduate of the University of Georgia. His prior non-profit work
includes being a member of the advisory councils of the National Outdoor Leadership Schools
(NOLS) and Outward Bound Atlanta. Outside of work, David enjoys time with family,
traveling, fly fishing and being outdoors.

We’re thrilled to have David’s experience, passion for the outdoors, and commitment to Georgia’s natural resources helping guide the Conservancy’s mission. Welcome, David!
