What to Expect
Join the Georgia Conservancy on October 24 for a morning hike at Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park. The guided hike will focus on both the historic aspects of the park and park wildlife, especially birds.
Our hike will be located on the trail system in the southern section of the National Park, near and around the Illinois State Monument.

The Schedule
Friday: Let's Go For A Hike
Meeting point: Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park / Illinois State Monument and Cheatham Hill Trail
Check-in is at 10 AM with the hike beginning shortly after.
Our Friday hike will be guided and will offer participants the opportunity to learn about the Civil War history and natural history of this incredible Metro Atlanta National Park and ecosystem.

What Should I Pack?
Hiking shoes/boots with strong support and good grip
Waterproof/water-resistant jacket (just in case!)
Small daypack / backpack
Water
Snacks / lunch
Binoculars and/or camera if you got ’em!
Is This Family Friendly?
This is an intermediate fitness level trip, so while we welcome teens and their parents, young children don’t do well.
