Once in a lifetime experience!
Rappel 22 stories down a Buckhead skyscraper to protect the places that make Georgia worth loving.
A Once in a lifetime opportunity
Some gifts to nature come with a view.
Georgia’s wild places don’t protect themselves. Since 1967, Georgia Conservancy has worked to keep our coast, mountains, and forests protected and open to the people who love them.
On November 6, you can join that work in the most memorable way possible: by stepping off the roof of the InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta and rappelling to the ground.
How it works
Three steps. No experience needed.
1. Register
Claim your spot. Rappelling spaces are limited.
2. Donate or Raise $1,000
We’ll set up your personal fundraising page where you can donate or start fundraising. We also give you a toolkit of tips to share with family and friends.
3. Go Over the Edge
Hit your goal and your spot is secured. Then show up and take the leap.
Don’t want to fundraise? Make a personal gift to reach the $1,000 goal and you’re in.
Not a fan of heights? Not sure about fundraising?
You still belong here.
“I’m afraid of heights.”
You don’t have to rappel to make a difference. Choose a rappeller and give to their fundraising page. Your tax-deductible gift protects Georgia’s most treasured natural places and supports outdoor recreation across the state.
“I’m not sure yet.”
Come to a free virtual info session. Ask questions and see how it works, with no commitment.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is my donation tax deductible?
Yes, Georgia Conservancy is a 501c3 nonprofit organization. And your donation will be tax deductible to the extend allowed by law. If you personally donate the full $1,000, roughly $500 will be tax deductible.
Do I need any experience?
No experience needed. You get trained onsite, and go through three safety checks. As long as you can sit back in the harness, and be able to squeeze the descender you are good.
Can I wear a costume?
- Costumes ARE allowed. The technical team has the final say in whether your costume is safe. Loose or excessive costumes and capes should be avoided. Head pieces that won’t accommodate a helmet, obscure your vision or are notably large or heavy will not be allowed.
Is there a weight limit?
- Rappellers must weigh between 100 and 300 pounds to ensure their safety while rappelling.
Is there an age requirement?
- Anyone under the age of 18 requires a parent or guardian’s signature on the legal waiver.
Can I rappel with a friend?
- Absolutely. Just get your family member or friend to signup as well. Then we can pair you in the same timeslot. You can also setup a team page and fundraiser together.
