Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity in the Outdoors and in our Communities

As advocates for public lands, leaders in outdoor recreation, and planners of sustainable, resilient communities, the Georgia Conservancy embraces its role to actively and consistently seek out, listen to, and amplify the voices of peoples of color and to address the barriers that have been laid before them as individuals and as communities. Collectively and individually, we must do better as an organization.

Through our work and actions, the Georgia Conservancy pledges to help eliminate the barriers that have prevented acceptance in our outdoor spaces and to help ensure equitable access to safe and healthy environments. The opportunities for men, women, and children of color to experience adventure in the outdoors, seek solace and communion in nature, and to live in safe and healthy communities will not be diminished nor compromised in any aspect of our work. This view will remain central in our strategic planning and to our vision of a Georgia where people and the environment thrive.
