IRA Gift
Take advantage of this opportunity to help conserve Georgia’s land and water!
Renewed legislation allows individuals who are 70 ½ or older to make tax-free charitable gifts from their IRA.
What accounts can I transfer funds from?
Your gift must come directly from your IRA (Traditional or Roth).
How much can I transfer?
Any amount up to $100,000 per year.
Gifts of up to $100,000—from either traditional IRAs or Roth IRAs—are excluded from your taxable income and can be used to satisfy your minimum distribution requirement.
The transfer must be made directly from your IRA to the Georgia Conservancy, or another favorite charity, and must be for an outright gift.
There is no tax deduction—the amount is simply not reported as income.
Which organizations qualify to receive IRA rollovers?
Organizations that are tax exempt and classified as a 501(c)(3) organization, like the Georgia Conservancy.
How do I make an IRA charitable rollover?
Simply contact your IRA provider to make your gift. You may need to provide them with our Tax ID number, which is 58-1027246.
Please make sure to contact the Georgia Conservancy when you make your gift, as some IRA providers do not list the donor's name along with the check.
